Construction
The Gatan Neck is worked top-down like a raglan sweater but finished early with an icord bind-off. A generous folded neckband in 1×1 rib is worked from picked up stitches at the cast-on edge.

Adjusting the size
The pattern is written for a b/c cup and a distance from the shoulder to the widest point of the bust (usually the nipple) of 21 cm / 8 inches. Advice on adjusting the size for your bust and torso are included in the pattern.
Gauge
10 cm x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches = 22 sts x 32 rows
Gauge swatch is worked flat in the garter rib stitch using Size A needles and wet blocked.
Suggested needles
Size A 4.5 mm (60 cm) / US 7 (24 inches) circular needles
Size B 3.5 mm (40 cm) / US 4 (16 inches) circular needles
Size C 4 mm (40 cm) / US 6 (16 inches) circular needles

Yarn
2 strands of light fingering yarn (270 meters / 295 yards per 50 g) 750 (790) meters / 820 (865) yards held together OR 1 strand of DK/light worsted yarn. If using DK/light worsted yarn you have to half the meters / yards, recommended for light fingering.
